"Framing Nature: Drawing as Art in the Landscape”
Join us for a captivating Plein Air workshop led by landscape architect and artist Judson Newbern and artist Jessica Lewis. Immerse yourself in nature at Edwin Warner Parks, exploring diverse sites along the Little Harpeth River.
In this 3-hour session, you’ll discover the art of mark making, composition planning, interpreting foliage, and creating atmospheric perspective in your drawings. Judson and Jessica will guide you in finding the compositional bones of basic landscapes, ensuring you can translate 3-D scenery into compelling 2-D artwork.
With a limited group of 12 participants, this half-day workshop promises an enriching experience for both beginners and seasoned artists. Don't miss the chance to bring your sketches to life back in the studio from the inspiration gathered in these picturesque locations. ALL levels welcome!

Sketchbook or drawing paper and drawing board with tape.

Pencils (4H, 2H, HB, 2B and 4B are ideal)

Craft knife (for sharpening your pencils) or pencil sharpener

Sandpaper (for filing the graphite of your pencils)
