Plein Air painting is wonderful for reacting to the scene, capturing color notes, noticing the light, and is an integral part of an artist’s practice. Back in the studio, we get to slow down, think more, and use that plein air study, along with photo references, to create a more polished studio piece. We will explore your intention, and with making a few thoughtful changes (it could be tweaking composition, enhancing the light, changing the color palette, or something else), develop a well designed and thoughtful studio piece. Brigitte will demo her process, including making changes to a painting and photos on an iPad, value sketches, choosing a color palette, and then beginning a studio piece. You’ll then get to paint your own.
